Trolley castors by sector

Every sector asks something different of its trolley castors: hygiene, quiet running, load capacity or heat resistance. Here is what suits each case and the catalogue series that fit.

Sectors

Castors for the food industry

In the food industry, castors have to cope with water, frequent cleaning and often cold rooms and ovens as well. That is why you need a bracket that resists corrosion and a tread that does not degrade with washing.

Our catalogue includes series with stainless steel (INOX) brackets, nylon wheels with a needle roller bearing or plain bore, and phenolic resin wheels for trolleys that go into the oven.

Shopping trolley castors

Shopping trolleys work many hours a day, on smooth floors, in car parks and on travelators. Our supermarket castors have an 85º ShA polyurethane tread, a reinforced copolymer centre, a sealed ball bearing and polyamide thread guards.

There are pressed steel or reinforced polyamide brackets, a fixed castor with an anti-rotation fitting for special trolleys and a special bi-rotational model for travelators.

Castors for hospitals and institutions

In hospitals, care homes, hotels and schools, trolleys need to run quietly and without marking the floor. For furniture and light trolleys we have grey rubber and grey polyurethane castors with zinc-plated brackets, with a top plate or bolt hole, and also with brake.

For service trolleys carrying heavier loads, the grey polyurethane series in the industrial family go up to Ø 125 mm.

Castors for laundries and services

Laundry trolleys move fully loaded, often in damp environments. The “Services and laundries” line in the catalogue includes grey polyurethane, blue Poliflex and blue polyurethane castors with a copolymer centre, all with sealed ball bearings.

They are available as swivel, braked and fixed castors, with a 105 × 85 mm top plate, in diameters from 100 to 160 mm.

Castors for distribution and logistics

In distribution, trolleys and containers spend the day being loaded and unloaded. For them there are the blue polyurethane castors with a polyamide centre from the “Industry and containers” line, with a 3 mm bracket.

When the load is greater, the heavy duty family offers super-elastic rubber, nylon and cast polyurethane with 4 and 5 mm brackets, up to 1000 kg per castor.

Oven trolley castors

Trolleys that go into the oven need castors that can withstand high temperatures. Our catalogue includes one-piece phenolic resin wheels, resistant to high temperatures, and cast steel wheels.

Both are available as swivel castors, fixed castors and loose wheels, from Ø 80 to 125 mm, and their bracket is available in stainless steel (INOX).

Castors for scaffolding and structures

Scaffold castors fit onto the tube of the structure and have a brake to hold it in place while work is carried out. Ours have a 3 mm pressed steel bracket, a double ball race and a tubular coupling.

There are three versions: black rubber with a polypropylene rim, black rubber with a steel rim, and nylon, the latter rated up to 600 kg per castor.

Castors for outdoor use and uneven floors

Outdoors, on gravel or on uneven surfaces, a pneumatic wheel is the best at absorbing knocks. Ours are Ø 260 mm, with a pneumatic rubber tyre and a polypropylene or steel rim.

They are available with a swivel or fixed bracket, 4 and 3 mm thick, and also as a loose wheel.
